In order to keep our program moving forward and growing we have decided to start offering specific pups to guardian homes this allows the pups to be part of a smaller family and get the love and attention each dog deserves since we can't keep every pup we would want we have plenty of love but only so much time and space ;) A guardian home is a family that receives a puppy we wish to keep in our breeding program. Guardian homes are not for everyone so not a decision anyone should take lightly but can be an amazing opportunity to some. In all cases the breeder would retain breeding rights.
Requirements of a Guardian Program in a nutshell 1. The dog must be left intact until the contract is fulfilled 2. We would have access to show the dog a few times a year (all costs and transportation would be covered by the breeder) if the guardian home would like to participate in showing be it cheering ring side or giving it a shot in the ring they are more than welcome to in fact we would encourage it 3. Proper care and socialization provided to the dog throughout its lifetime 4. Provide access to the dog for breeding purposes if a male then allow for him to be picked up by the breeder when his services are needed he would also be returned by the breeder if a female she would stay with the breeder during breeding and cared for during the gestation and returned to the breeder for whelping the litter a week prior to the due date until the pups are 8 weeks. No more than 3 litters would be required and the guardian family (and their family) would be given priority for puppies if desired 5. Provide access to the breeder for health testing purposes 6. The home must be located within an hour of Enon, Ohio
Financial Responsibilities of the Breeder 1. The Breeder will be responsible for all vet bills related to breeding as well as transportation costs 2. All Show related costs will be the responsibility of the Breeder 3. At the end of the contract the breeder will be responsible for the cost to spay/neuter when the contract is fulfilled or the dog is no longer needed for the program
Some of the pros of being a guardian home 1. Getting the best puppy (at a extremely discounted cost if any) in terms of conformation and temperament of a litter and aiding in improving the breed as well as having health testing done on the dog 2. Free boarding for the dog whenever the guardian home needs 3. Being involved in the breeding process and showing (every contract will be different dependent on how much the guardian home wishes to be involved in breeding and showing) 4. Access to future progeny and priority on the list for the progeny
The abovementioned is the program in a nutshell and more specifics would be customized based on the individual circumstances and needs as well as the dogs needs. We will be very picky in our guardian homes these special pups will be part of the future for our breeding program. These will be primarily males and not very often will one be available so please contact me if you would like to learn more about the program. We will most likely have a male available at the end of the year (2020) for this program.
